CoCoonium1930

Amid the ruins of the First World War, Robert Carl Hermann—a German pilot and astrophysicist who once believed in reason above all—meets Léveillé, a French chemist with eyes too gentle for the age he lives in. What begins as a wary collision between enemies turns into an understanding neither of them can name. Together, they dig into the buried histories of their families and stumble upon CoCoonium, a strange element whispered to be the key to eternity. It becomes their shared obsession, their way of reaching for peace when the world has forgotten what peace means. In the flicker of candlelight and the hum of machines, Robert finds in Léveillé the warmth he thought forever lost, and Léveillé sees in Hermann a mind caught between heaven and ruin. Their love—and their search for CoCoonium—becomes the same thing: a rebellion against the end, a quiet promise that even in a collapsing century, something eternal might still be born.
